Bhumika Chawla real name Rachna Chawla, was born 21st August 1978 in a Punjabi family in New Delhi, India. Her father Colonel A, S Chawla was an upright army officer. She has completed her schooling in Delhi. Bhumika got in to the acting in ads and musivc videos. She did advetising for the big companies like Fair and Lovely, Ponds talcum powder, birla cements whisper, dabur etc...
Her appearance in Ponds ads became more popular and it made here invitable to Tollywood. She made her film debut in the Telugu film Yuvakudu. Her second release, Kushi, in which she starred opposite Pawan Kalyan was a box office success, and it made winning her the Filmfare Best Actress Award. After big success of bollywood movie "Tere Naam" she got so many offers from south. She made her appearence in Telugu, Tamil, Bhojpuri, Panjabi and Malayalam. She got married to her yoga master Bharath Thakur on 21 October 2007.
