Ananya was born to Gopalakrishnan Nair and Praseetha at small village named Perumbavoor. Her original name was Ayilya Nair but more known as Ananya. She born on 29 march 1987. She debuted to Mollywood with the movie Positive, which was not a hit at all. But after the movie Nadodigal, which was debut tamil film, was a hit and she got noted in the south indian movie industry.
She first spotted by various directors While representing her college in a television reality show "Star Wars". Although she acted as child artist in movie "Pai brothers" which was produced by her father Gopalakrishnan. Ananya pursued a B.A. degree in Communicative English at the St. Xavier's College, Aluva.
Ananya played one of the female lead roles in tamil hit movie Engeyum Eppodhum, she got several apreciations and became talk of the tamil movie industry.
Currently she has a list 0f malayalam and tamil movies in her hands.
